Nature Programming

Fairfield Parks & Recreation offers a variety of nature programming throughout the year. While several of the programs are free, please let us know your coming by calling 513-767-5348 or stopping by our offices in the Fairfield Community Arts Center at 411 Wessel Dr. in Fairfield. 

One-time events:

Texture Stones*
Saturday, Feb. 10, Noon - 1 PM at Huffman Park
$3 Fairfield residents, $5 non-residents

ALL AGES | INSTRUCTOR: Kathryn Keefe
Just in time for Valentines! Take a walk through Huffman Park to collect natural material to create your own texture stones. A fun way to look closer at nature and learn what winter leaves behind by pressing material into clay for a beautiful textured gift. Participants will also receive an interactive wildlife journal to take home.

Nature Sun Catchers*
Saturday, Mar. 24, 2 - 3:30 PM at Huffman Park
$5 Fairfield residents, $8 non-residents

ALL AGES | INSTRUCTOR: Kathryn Keefe
Welcome spring back as we explore Huffman Park to collect natural materials to create sun catchers. Take in the light and learn about each natural item you collect, press, and seal into beautiful hanging art pieces.

Earth Day Celebration - FREE for all ages!
Saturday, April 21, Noon - 2 PM at Huffman Park

Celebrate this beautiful Earth we all share at Huffman Park. Learn different ways to protect our Earth while enjoying games, crafts, activities, and more!

Star Gazing, FREE for ALL AGES

FREE for all ages

The Cincinnati Astronomical Society is back for another season. Look through their telescopes and get an up-close look at the moon, planets, and stars that fill the night sky. To help us have enough telescopes on hand, please register for days you would like to attend by calling 513-867-5348.
